Over the last several months, we've been working on a child internet safety and parental control application. This project came into being as the result of ongoing conversations we've had with a colleague who has several children of primary school age being homeschooled, and is intensely dissatisfied with the host of offerings in this software category. The system we're implementing will not reinvent the wheel, but will rather augment any other systems a parent may already have in place to restrict where a child will be allowed to go on the internet, and when the child will be allowed to go there. The feature set is narrowly focused and will be easily installed and maintained. We'll be posting a product announcement shortly.
Architecturally, this is turning out to be a very interesting project, involving a number of different technologies!
